NOW W/ MAGIC FARTS :: Pandeer Species Guide

Long ago, humankind was plagued with dark beings who delighted in tormenting their mortal victims by devouring their dreams.  To protect man, god appointed two creatures to watch over the night: the great panda, guardian of the east, and the white tailed deer, guardian of the west.  They had the power to swallow evil whole, and expel the waste as pure thoughts and feelings, thus spreading goodness throughout the land.  However, they were sworn to never leave their lands, because without their power, mankind would fall victim to darkness again.

One summery evening, the panda and the deer met by chance at an ancient spring that separated their homelands.  They were instantly besotted, and from that point on, they continued to meet in secret.  Some nights the panda would cross the spring to the west, other nights the deer would cross to the east, both alternating to keep the wicked forces from reclaiming their territories.  But they were unable to hold back the evil.

Furious, god banished them to the furthest reaches of the universe, where they could never meet the other again.  In their place, he created innumerable Dreamkits with the power to purify the human mind, and they guard the world to this day.  However, during the short time the panda and the deer were able to love one another, they birthed children, the Pandeer.

Pandeer are strange creatures.  Because of their parents' disobedience, they are cursed offspring, powerless and unable to eat anything but the dreams of humans.  The very thing the panda and deer fought so hard to protect, is now what their children must steal to live.  Contrary to their circumstance, they are very sweet and only want to be loved and accepted.  However, their looks tend to frighten others away.  So they hide themselves in magic fur woven from dreams.  The only part of their true form any human has ever seen are their bizarre glowing eyes and mouths full of razor sharp teeth which seem to float in darkness behind their panda masks.  They are painfully shy and usually remove the masks only to feed or defend themselves.  When their masks are removed they have the ability to expel magic arms from their bean holes.  (Don't worry, their farts smell like cotton candy.)  These glittering, translucent arms are made of dream dust and can extend to amazing lengths.

All Pandeer are sworn enemies of the Dreamkits, and will need to be protected from those over-zealous dream defenders.
